As a hands-on Director -Controller, Melodie Williams believes there’s a history behind the numbers. Managing day-to-day operations and accounting, she has over 15 years of experience working for companies in the AEC industries. She draws from her background in non-profit work to manage forecasting, budgeting, and regulatory procedures, and ensure GAAP compliance. Handling internal control management, she upholds industry standards while working with all external vendors, clients, and stakeholders. Melodie creates and implements responsive policies for the practice as she provides leadership in business operations.
As part of a Los Angeles CFO Roundtable Group, Melodie works with local controllers in design firms to create best practices within the AEC industry. She holds a bachelor degree in Administration and History from California State University, Los Angeles.
I come from a lineage of strong-willed and determined women that spans many generations. One of my ancestors, Florestine Cortes, successfully petitioned the Governor of Louisiana for her freedom, became a businesswoman, and enrolled her children in private schools, beginning a legacy of powerful women. These women who preceded me have guided me in my career and personal life, ensuring I continually strive for improvement.
